All Inclusive Pricing

For each assignment estimate, my photography pricing aims to include all fees, accounting for every eventuality, so there are no surprises once we are shooting.

There are a number of factors that need to be accounted for when putting a photography estimate together.

Professional Photographer Rates

My photography rates are based on time. I do not charge by the picture or by the clicks, as this can be misleading, but rather the time is calculated by blocks of half-day or full day. Depending on the assignment, we may spend one day for a single photo, or take dozens of photos in that same period. This is outlined in our estimates based on the brief you supply. After decades in this industry, my estimates are generally quite accurate, but the more information you can supply regarding your needs, the better.

Travel

As I travel with a lot of gear needed to achieve the quality of imagery you deserve, travel cost for local shoots is charged by mileage, and flights, hotel and expenses would be charged if travel further afield is required. This is also detailed in the terms and conditions of your photography pricing estimate to avoid unexpected fees afterwards.

Post-Production

After shooting, most modern photography will require extra work to bring them to the final look and feel we have come to expect. The work may be short with simple enhancements (brightness, contrast, colours). At times it may be quite extensive involving skin, composition or 3D/CGI work. This is based on an hourly rate, and an estimate will be included in your project costs. If your requirements change after the shooting is completed the cost may vary, and we will inform you in advance.

The Extras

Production Management

A production management fee may be applied on projects that require more communication and preparation before and after the shooting.

On set crew

Depending on the requirements, we may need to bring in extra people (set designer, wardrobe stylist, hair & make-up artist, assistants) to achieve your desired look. This will all be included in the estimate.

Talent

I am happy to help source models or actors for your shoot if you need it (including people or animals). A casting fee will be applied to cover the time and communication with agencies or models, plus the talents’ own fees.

Location, Location, Location

Locations play a huge role in my work. I am happy to help source locations for your shoot (e.g. indoors, outside, photo-studio or villas). Reconnaissance and location fees can be included in your estimate if this service is required.
